An excerpt characterizing Mordovian State University named after N. P. Ogaryov

- I am only surprised how it was possible to entrust the fate of Russia to such a person.
While this news was still unofficial, one could still doubt it, but the next day the following report came from Count Rostopchin:
“The adjutant of Prince Kutuzov brought me a letter in which he demands police officers from me to escort the army to the Ryazan road. He says that he leaves Moscow with regret. Sovereign! Kutuzov's act decides the fate of the capital and your empire. Russia will shudder when it learns of the surrender of the city, where the greatness of Russia is concentrated, where are the ashes of your ancestors. I will follow the army. I took everything out, it remains for me to cry about the fate of my fatherland.
Having received this report, the sovereign sent the following rescript to Kutuzov with Prince Volkonsky:
“Prince Mikhail Ilarionovich! Since August 29, I have not had any reports from you. In the meantime, on September 1, through Yaroslavl, from the Moscow commander-in-chief, I received the sad news that you had decided to leave Moscow with the army. You yourself can imagine the effect this news had on me, and your silence deepens my surprise. I am sending with this Adjutant General Prince Volkonsky in order to learn from you about the state of the army and about the reasons that prompted you to such a sad determination.

Nine days after leaving Moscow, a messenger from Kutuzov arrived in Petersburg with official news of the abandonment of Moscow. This one was sent by the Frenchman Michaud, who did not know Russian, but quoique etranger, Busse de c?ur et d "ame, [however, although a foreigner, but Russian at heart,] as he himself said to himself.
The emperor immediately received the messenger in his office, in the palace of Kamenny Island. Michaud, who had never seen Moscow before the campaign and who did not know Russian, was still moved when he appeared before notre tres gracieux souverain [our most merciful lord] (as he wrote) with the news of the fire of Moscow, dont les flammes eclairaient sa route [whose flame lit his way].
Although the source of Mr. Michaud's chagrin [grief] must have been different than the one from which the grief of the Russian people flowed, Michaud had such a sad face when he was brought into the sovereign's office that the sovereign immediately asked him:
- M "apportez vous de tristes nouvelles, colonel? [What news did you bring me? Bad, colonel?]
- Bien tristes, sire, - answered Michaud, lowering his eyes with a sigh, - l "abandon de Moscou. [Very bad, Your Majesty, leaving Moscow.]
– Aurait on livre mon ancienne capitale sans se battre? [Did they really betray my ancient capital without a fight?] – the sovereign suddenly flared up and quickly spoke.
Michaud respectfully conveyed what he was ordered to convey from Kutuzov - namely, that it was not possible to fight near Moscow and that, since there was only one choice - to lose the army and Moscow or Moscow alone, the field marshal had to choose the latter.
The sovereign listened in silence, without looking at Michaud.
- L "ennemi est il en ville? [Did the enemy enter the city?] - he asked.
- Oui, sire, et elle est en cendres a l "heure qu" il est. Je l "ai laissee toute en flammes, [Yes, your majesty, and he is currently on fire. I left him in flames.] Michaud said decisively; but, looking at the sovereign, Michaud was horrified at what he had done. The sovereign began to breathe heavily and often, his lower lip trembled, and his beautiful blue eyes instantly moistened with tears.
But it only lasted one minute. The emperor suddenly frowned, as if condemning himself for his weakness. And, raising his head, he turned to Michaud in a firm voice.
“Je vois, colonel, par tout ce qui nous arrive,” he said, “que la providence exige de grands sacrifices de nous… Je suis pret a me soumettre a toutes ses volontes; mais dites moi, Michaud, comment avez vous laisse l "armee, en voyant ainsi, sans coup ferir abandonner mon ancienne capitale? N" avez vous pas apercu du decouragement? .. [I see, colonel, in everything that happens, what providence requires great sacrifices from us ... I am ready to submit to his will; but tell me, Michaud, how did you leave an army that left my ancient capital without a fight? Did you notice her low spirits?]
Seeing the calmness of his tres gracieux souverain, Michaud also calmed down, but to the sovereign’s direct, essential question, which required a direct answer, he had not yet had time to prepare an answer.
– Sire, me permettrez vous de vous parler franchement en loyal militaire? [Sovereign, will you allow me to speak frankly, as befits a real warrior?] – he said to gain time.
- Colonel, je l "exige toujours," said the sovereign. "Ne me cachez rien, je veux savoir absolument ce qu" il en est. [Colonel, I always demand this... Don't hide anything, I certainly want to know the whole truth.]
– Sir! Michaud said with a thin, barely perceptible smile on his lips, having managed to prepare his answer in the form of a light and respectful jeu de mots [pun]. – Sir! j "ai laisse toute l" armee depuis les chefs jusqu "au dernier soldat, sans exception, dans une crainte epouvantable, effrayante ... [Sir! I left the entire army, from the commanders to the last soldier, without exception, in the great, desperate fear…]
– Comment ca? - strictly frowning, interrupted the sovereign. - Mes Russes se laisseront ils abattre par le malheur ... Jamais! .. [How so? Can my Russians lose heart before failure… Never!..]
This was just what Michaud was waiting for to insert his play on words.
“Sire,” he said with respectful playfulness, “ils craignent seulement que Votre Majeste par bonte de c?ur ne se laisse persuader de faire la paix.” Ils brulent de combattre, - said the representative of the Russian people, - et de prouver a Votre Majeste par le sacrifice de leur vie, combien ils lui sont devoues... . They are eager to fight again and prove to Your Majesty by the sacrifice of their lives how devoted they are to you…]
- Ah! the sovereign said calmly and with a gentle gleam in his eyes, slapping Michaud on the shoulder. - Vous me tranquillisez, colonel. [A! You calm me down, Colonel.]
The sovereign, bowing his head, was silent for some time.
- Eh bien, retournez a l "armee, [Well, go back to the army.] - he said, straightening to his full height and addressing Michaud with an affectionate and majestic gesture, - et dites a nos braves, dites a tous mes bons sujets partout ou vous passerez, que quand je n" aurais plus aucun soldat, je me mettrai moi meme, a la tete de ma chere noblesse, de mes bons paysans et j "userai ainsi jusqu" a la derniere ressource de mon empire. Il m "en offre encore plus que mes ennemis ne pensent," the sovereign said, more and more inspired. "Mais si jamais il fut ecrit dans les decrets de la divine providence," he said, raising his beautiful, meek and brilliant feelings eyes to the sky, - que ma dinastie dut cesser de rogner sur le trone de mes ancetres, alors, apres avoir epuise tous les moyens qui sont en mon pouvoir, je me laisserai croitre la barbe jusqu "ici (the sovereign showed half of his chest with his hand) , et j "irai manger des pommes de terre avec le dernier de mes paysans plutot, que de signer la honte de ma patrie et de ma chere nation, dont je sais apprecier les sacrifices!.. [Tell our brave men, tell all my subjects wherever you pass, that when I have not a single soldier left, I myself will stand at the head of my amiable nobles and good peasants and thus exhaust the last funds of my state. They are more than my enemies think ... But if it was destined by divine providence that our dynasty ceased to reign on the throne of my ancestors, then, having exhausted all the means that are in my hands, I will grow my beard until now and rather go to eat one potato with the last of my peasants, rather than decide to sign the disgrace of my homeland and my dear people, whose sacrifices I know how to appreciate!..] Having said these words in an excited voice, the sovereign suddenly turned around, as if wishing to hide from Michaud the tears that had come into his eyes, and went into the depths of his office. After standing there for a few moments, he returned to Michaud with large steps and with a strong gesture squeezed his hand below the elbow. The beautiful, meek face of the sovereign flushed, and his eyes burned with a gleam of determination and anger.
- Colonel Michaud, n "oubliez pas ce que je vous dis ici; peut etre qu" un jour nous nous le rappellerons avec plaisir ... Napoleon ou moi, - said the sovereign, touching his chest. – Nous ne pouvons plus regner ensemble. J "ai appris a le connaitre, il ne me trompera plus ... [Colonel Michaud, do not forget what I told you here; maybe we will someday remember this with pleasure ... Napoleon or I ... We can no longer reign together. I recognized him now, and he will not deceive me anymore ...] - And the sovereign, frowning, fell silent. Hearing these words, seeing the expression of firm determination in the eyes of the sovereign, Michaud - quoique etranger, mais Russe de c?ur et d "ame - felt himself at this solemn moment - entousiasme par tout ce qu "il venait d" entendre [although a foreigner, but a Russian at heart ... admiring everything that he heard] (as he later said), and he portrayed in the following expressions as his feelings, and the feelings of the Russian people, whom he considered himself empowered.
– Sir! - he said. - Votre Majeste signe dans ce moment la gloire de la nation et le salut de l "Europe! [Sir! Your Majesty is signing at this moment the glory of the people and the salvation of Europe!]
The emperor, with a bow of his head, released Michaud.

While Russia was half conquered, and the inhabitants of Moscow fled to distant provinces, and militia after militia rose to defend the fatherland, it involuntarily seems to us, who did not live at that time, that all Russian people, young and old, were busy only with to sacrifice oneself, save the fatherland or cry over its death. The stories, descriptions of that time, without exception, speak only of self-sacrifice, love for the fatherland, despair, grief and heroism of Russians. In reality, it was not so. It seems to us so only because we see from the past one common historical interest of that time and do not see all those personal, human interests that people of that time had. And meanwhile, in reality, those personal interests of the present are so much more significant than the general interests that because of them one never feels (even not at all noticeable) a general interest. Most of the people of that time did not pay any attention to the general course of affairs, but were guided only by the personal interests of the present. And these people were the most useful figures of that time.
Those who tried to understand the general course of affairs and with self-sacrifice and heroism wanted to participate in it, were the most useless members of society; they saw everything upside down, and everything they did for good turned out to be useless nonsense, like the regiments of Pierre, Mamonov, plundering Russian villages, like lint, plucked by ladies and never reaching the wounded, etc. Even those who, loving to be smart and express their feelings, they talked about the real situation in Russia, involuntarily bore in their speeches the imprint of either pretense and lies, or useless condemnation and anger at people accused of what no one could be guilty of. In historical events, the prohibition against eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge is most obvious. Only one unconscious activity bears fruit, and the person who plays a part in a historical event never understands its significance. If he tries to understand it, he is amazed at the barrenness.
The significance of the event taking place in Russia at that time was the more imperceptible, the closer was the participation of a person in it. In St. Petersburg and provincial cities far from Moscow, ladies and men in militia uniforms mourned Russia and the capital and talked about self-sacrifice, etc.; but in the army that was retreating beyond Moscow, they hardly spoke or thought about Moscow, and, looking at its conflagration, no one swore to take revenge on the French, but thought about the next third of the salary, about the next stop, about Matryoshka, the shopper, and the like ...
Nikolai Rostov, without any goal of self-sacrifice, but by chance, since the war found him in the service, took a close and prolonged part in the defense of the fatherland and therefore, without despair and gloomy conclusions, looked at what was happening then in Russia. If he were asked what he thinks about the current situation in Russia, he would say that he has nothing to think about, that there are Kutuzov and others, but that he heard that regiments are being completed, and that they must be fighting for a long time , and that under the present circumstances it is not surprising for him to receive a regiment in two years.
By the fact that he looked at the matter in such a way, he not only accepted the news of his appointment on a business trip for repairs for the division in Voronezh without regret that he was deprived of participation in the last battle, but also with the greatest pleasure, which he did not hide and which his comrades understood very well.
A few days before the battle of Borodino, Nikolai received money, papers, and, having sent hussars forward, went to Voronezh by post.
Only those who have experienced this, that is, spent several months without ceasing in the atmosphere of military, combat life, can understand the pleasure that Nicholas experienced when he got out of the area that the troops reached with their forages, supplies, hospitals; when, without soldiers, wagons, dirty traces of the presence of the camp, he saw villages with peasants and women, landowners' houses, fields with grazing cattle, station houses with sleepy caretakers. He felt such joy, as if seeing it all for the first time. In particular, what surprised and delighted him for a long time were women, young, healthy, each of whom did not have a dozen courting officers, and women who were glad and flattered that a passing officer was joking with them.
In the most cheerful mood, Nikolai arrived at a hotel in Voronezh at night, ordered for himself everything that he had been deprived of in the army for a long time, and the next day, having cleanly shaved and put on a dress uniform that had not been put on for a long time, he went to appear to the authorities.
The head of the militia was a state general, an old man who apparently amused himself with his military rank and rank. He angrily (thinking that this was a military property) received Nikolai and significantly, as if having the right to do so and as if discussing the general course of the matter, approving and disapproving, questioned him. Nikolai was so cheerful that it was only amusing to him.
From the head of the militia, he went to the governor. The governor was a small lively little man, very affectionate and simple. He pointed out to Nikolai those factories where he could get horses, recommended him a horse dealer in the city and a landowner twenty miles from the city, who had the best horses, and promised him all kinds of assistance.
- Are you the son of Count Ilya Andreevich? My wife was very friendly with your mother. On Thursdays I have a gathering; Today is Thursday, you are welcome to me easily, - said the governor, releasing him.
Directly from the governor, Nikolai took the relay and, having seated the sergeant-major with him, galloped twenty miles to the factory to the landowner. Everything during this first time of his stay in Voronezh was fun and easy for Nikolai, and everything, as happens when a person himself is well disposed, everything went well and went smoothly.
The landowner Nikolai came to was an old bachelor cavalryman, a horse connoisseur, a hunter, the owner of a carpet, a hundred-year-old casserole, an old Hungarian and wonderful horses.
In a nutshell, Nikolai bought for six thousand seventeen stallions to select (as he said) for the casual end of his repair. After dinner and drinking a little extra Hungarian, Rostov, kissing the landowner, with whom he had already agreed on "you", along a disgusting road, in the most cheerful mood, galloped back, constantly chasing the driver in order to be in time for the evening to the governor.
Having changed clothes, perfumed himself and doused his head with cold water, Nikolai, although somewhat late, but with a ready-made phrase: vaut mieux tard que jamais, [better late than never,] appeared to the governor.
It was not a ball, and it was not said that they would dance; but everyone knew that Katerina Petrovna would play waltzes and ecossaises on the clavichord and that they would dance, and everyone, counting on this, gathered for the ballroom.
Provincial life in 1812 was exactly the same as always, with the only difference that the city was livelier on the occasion of the arrival of many wealthy families from Moscow and that, as in everything that was happening at that time in Russia, there was a noticeable some kind of special sweeping - the sea is knee-deep, the grass is in life, and even in the fact that that vulgar conversation that is necessary between people and which was previously conducted about the weather and mutual acquaintances, was now conducted about Moscow, about the army and Napoleon.
The society gathered at the governor's was the best society in Voronezh.
There were a lot of ladies, there were several Moscow acquaintances of Nikolai; but there were no men who could compete in any way with the Knight of St. George, the hussar repairman, and at the same time the good-natured and well-bred Count Rostov. Among the men was one captured Italian - an officer of the French army, and Nikolai felt that the presence of this prisoner even more exalted the importance of him - a Russian hero. It was like a trophy. Nikolai felt this, and it seemed to him that everyone looked at the Italian in the same way, and Nikolai treated this officer with dignity and restraint.
As soon as Nicholas entered in his hussar uniform, spreading the smell of perfume and wine around him, he himself said and heard the words spoken to him several times: vaut mieux tard que jamais, he was surrounded; all eyes turned to him, and he immediately felt that he had stepped into the position of universal favorite, which was fitting for him in the province and always pleasant, but now, after a long deprivation, intoxicated him with pleasure. Not only at the stations, inns and in the landowner's carpet were the maidservants flattered by his attention; but here, at the governor's party, there was (as it seemed to Nikolai) an inexhaustible number of young ladies and pretty girls who were only impatiently waiting for Nikolai to pay attention to them. Ladies and girls flirted with him, and from the first day old women were already busy about how to marry and settle down this young hussar rake. Among these latter was the governor's wife herself, who received Rostov as a close relative and called him "Nicolas" and "you."
Katerina Petrovna really began to play waltzes and ecossaises, and dances began, in which Nikolai even more captivated the entire provincial society with his dexterity. He surprised even everyone with his special, cheeky manner in dancing. Nikolai himself was somewhat surprised by his manner of dancing that evening. He had never danced like this in Moscow and would have even considered it indecent and mauvais genre [bad form] to have such an overly cheeky manner of dancing; but here he felt the need to surprise them all with something unusual, something that they should have taken for ordinary in the capitals, but still unknown to them in the provinces.
Throughout the evening, Nikolai paid most of his attention to the blue-eyed, plump and pretty blonde, the wife of one of the provincial officials. With that naive conviction of the amused young people that other people's wives were created for them, Rostov did not leave this lady and treated her husband in a friendly, somewhat conspiratorial manner, as if they, although they did not say this, knew how nicely they would get together - then there is Nikolai with the wife of this husband. The husband, however, did not seem to share this conviction and tried to treat Rostov gloomily. But the good-natured naivety of Nicholas was so boundless that sometimes the husband involuntarily succumbed to the cheerful mood of the spirit of Nicholas. Towards the end of the evening, however, as the wife's face became more and more rosy and lively, her husband's face became more and more sad and pale, as if the share of animation was the same for both, and as it increased in the wife, it decreased in the husband. .

History of Moscow State University N. P. Ogaryova

Mordovian University traces its history back to the creation of the first higher educational institution in Mordovia - the Mordovian Agricultural Pedagogical Institute. It was opened in the region (at that time the Mordovian Autonomous Region) on October 1, 1931 by the decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR.

A year later, on November 23, 1932, the Agricultural Pedagogical Institute was transformed into the Mordovian State Pedagogical Institute (MGPI). Historical, mathematical, chemical, biological departments and the department of literature and language were created in its composition. The first release of specialists (73 people) took place in 1935.

The main task of the university at first was to provide schools in the region with teaching staff. Accelerated training of teachers was carried out at the teacher's institute, which was opened as part of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute in 1934. In 1935, students of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute moved to study in a new four-story building at the corner of Bolshevistskaya and Rabochiy Lane (now B. Khmelnitsky Street). The first educational building existed until 2010, on September 15, 2016, a new educational and laboratory building of the Mordovian University was opened in its place - the tallest building in Saransk.

From 1938 to 1957, the Mordovian Pedagogical Institute was named after the Russian poet Alexander Ivanovich Polezhaev, who was a native of the Mordovian region. In the same decades, the largest Russian philosopher and literary critic Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin worked at the university. For the first time, M. M. Bakhtin came to Saransk and began working at the university in 1936 after his exile. Then, from 1945 to 1961, until his retirement, Mikhail Mikhailovich taught at the historical and philological faculty of the Mordovian Pedagogical Institute (since 1957 - Mordovian University), was an associate professor, head of the department of Russian and foreign literature. In Saransk, he prepared for publication books that brought him world fame - "Problems of Dostoevsky's Poetics" (M., 1963), "The Work of Francois Rabelais and the Folk Culture of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance" (M., 1965). In 2015, in the year of the 120th anniversary of M. M. Bakhtin, a monument to the scientist was opened in the park near the central campus of the university, and the memorial and research center of M. M. Bakhtin appeared as part of the university.

On October 2, 1957, on the basis of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after A. I. Polezhaev, the Mordovian State University was established with the Faculty of History and Philology, Physics and Mathematics, Engineering and Technology, Agricultural Faculty, as well as the Faculty of Natural Science and the Faculty of Foreign Languages. The next year, the university began training its own scientific staff in graduate school. In accordance with the urgent tasks of the development of the Mordovian ASSR, new faculties and specialties were opened: in the following decades, the faculties of construction, electronic engineering, agricultural mechanization, economics, law, medicine and the only lighting engineering faculty in Russia (since 2016 - the Institute of Electronics and Lighting Engineering) ).

Since 1970, Mordovian University has been named after the Russian poet, publicist and revolutionary Nikolai Platonovich Ogaryov. The family estate of the Ogaryovs - the village of Staroe Akshino - is located 40 km from Saransk. The museum of N.P. Ogaryov operates in the university. One of the symbols of the Mordovian University is the monument to Ogaryov, opened in 1984.

In 1982, for merits in the training of specialists and the development of scientific research, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Mordovian University named after N.P. Ogaryov was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples.

In the 1990s the structure of the university changed - the largest faculties were transformed into institutes, and research institutes were also opened. In 2000, branches of the Mordovian University were opened in the two largest (besides Saransk) cities of Mordovia - Kovylkino and Ruzaevka.

Higher education plays a big role. With the right choice of an educational institution, you will receive not only knowledge by profession, but also plunge into the most interesting world of student life. Therefore, you need to approach the choice of a university and faculty very seriously - because this will determine how you will live in the next five years.

School (gymnasium) №29

School is usually not chosen - where you live, you study there. So I went to study at school number 29 in the city of Saransk, which was the closest to walking. But the reviews about her were good. A few years later, it acquired the status of a gymnasium, so I graduated from gymnasium No. 29. I studied well and graduated from school with a gold medal.

Among the subjects, I liked mathematics, physics and literature the most. At school, I led an active social life - I danced, sang in the choir, was a member of the council of high school students, studied in a theater group, played in a vocal and instrumental ensemble on a synthesizer, and of course, participated in various olympiads in mathematics, chemistry, Russian language and others.

It's getting harder to learn

Every year, modern children have to learn more and more difficult. Many subjects that were studied in my time starting from the fifth grade, for example, a foreign language or computer science, can now be seen in the second grader's schedule.

The final exams in the ninth and eleventh grades have become much more difficult. I also passed the exam, but this exam was only mandatory in mathematics. We wrote an essay in Russian. Now, in many subjects, exams are taken in the form of the Unified State Examination. At the same time, such a hype is created around - so many nerves, tears and money!

I am very glad that I studied at a different time. Of course, my parents were also worried about me, but instead of looking for someone who would give me a high score, they paid for classes with a tutor for two years. And our math teacher was very talented. As a result, I myself passed the exam in mathematics with 91 points.

The choice of direction, with what to connect your life?

It was clear for a long time that I would go to study at the Faculty of Mathematics. After the third grade, specialized education was introduced in our gymnasium No. 29. That is, you had to choose in which class you would study: in mathematics, dance, choir, or in the one where not very smart and talented children study. Let's just say it so as not to offend anyone. Does this division seem strange to you? This is explained by the fact that at that time our gymnasium had just received the status of an aesthetic one.

Mom made me answer some questions for a long time, asked me to complete tasks, trying to understand what kind of mindset I have. Probably, according to her calculations, it turned out that mathematical, and I went to study in the strongest mathematical class. And there, thanks to a talented mathematician-class teacher, I fell in love with algebra and geometry. I can still prove the Pythagorean theorem, even wake me up at night!

We have decided on a mathematical orientation, but in our city (Saransk) there are two universities - Moscow State University. N.P. Ogareva and the Pedagogical Institute. Evsevyeva. My school friend and I wanted to go to the pedagogical school since elementary school - we were taught by such wonderful people that we wanted to work as teachers, despite the complexity of the profession and low wages! But then, thanks to the undeniable decision of my parents, I went to apply to Moscow State University, and she left to enter Moscow. That's how the Pedagogical Institute was left behind.

The question of paid education was not even raised. And we didn’t have the money for this, and the presence of a gold medal and a fairly high score in the Unified State Examination were conducive to admission to the budgetary basis. Subconsciously, I always knew that I would go to university. As any child knows that after kindergarten he will go to school, so I knew that after school I would go to university. For me, this was the last stage before an adult working life.

For a long time I was faced with the question of which department of the Faculty of Mathematics to go to - applied mathematics or general? Fortunately, I chose applied specialization because I thought that I would need knowledge and skills to handle a computer competently more than deep knowledge of mathematical analysis, differential equations and the theory of functions of a complex variable. It makes me shudder from such intricate names of objects, not to mention their detailed study! :)

Admission - a test of strength!

As expected, I applied to the Faculty of Applied Mathematics. But if there is an opportunity to apply somewhere else, I decided not to miss it and play free. And the freebie was as follows. At the Faculty of Economics, the main subject was the mathematics of the Unified State Examination. To enter without exams, one had to have a gold medal and a score in the Unified State Examination, not lower than the passing one. Last year, the passing score was 75. I had a medal and a score of 91. But the attempt failed: (The bar was raised to 95, and then for admission it was necessary to take other subjects orally.

For admission to the Faculty of Mathematics, it was necessary to take mathematics orally. And in the case of passing on the top five in the presence of a gold medal, it was possible to enter. If I passed for a lower grade, I would have to write an essay and take other mandatory exams, like all non-medalists.

On the day of the exam, I was a little nervous, but I was sure that I would pass. Our teacher taught us so much that I almost did not prepare. Moreover, I passed both algebra and geometry orally, as subjects of my choice in the 11th grade. Everything went smoothly - I got an easy ticket with an easy task. Five - and the excitement is over, and the summer has finally begun!

I entered the Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogarev at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics in my hometown of Saransk on a budgetary basis.

First year of study at Moscow State University named after N.P. Ogarev

When I looked at the lists of groups (there were three of them in our specialization - two budget and one paid), I saw the name of a classmate, my good friend. I knew that he was going to do the same where I did, but I could not even imagine that we would study in the same group. A native person is nearby, it's always good. On the first of September we went together.

The rest of our classmates turned out to be different in character, habits and behavior, but worthy and interesting people. Immediately we were given a curator from the third year. He, as an experienced person, organized us. He told me how to study here, what is unusual, what is good, what is not very good. I quickly fit into the environment, and I liked the new place of study - a lot of new people, new teachers, completely different from school teachers and the very existence of student life. Even the air here was different! The dean handed out the transcripts—the first official document—and shook hands. Rushed!..

Computer Mathematical Granite of Science

After school lessons, the couples seemed so long ... But the lack of homework was pleasing. Lectures, practices, classes in computer laboratories. So far, nothing foreshadowed trouble, only the stories of "old-timers" about how this or that teacher takes exams.

Honestly, the mathematical disciplines with their meticulousness, depth and considerable complexity made me fall out of love with mathematics. There were flowers at school! And at the university, everything turned out to be much more difficult. Increasingly, questions arose: “Why might this be needed at all?” As a literate person, I could give an answer to this question, but as an ordinary person, I did not see practical experience in this.

But I really liked computer lessons! Interesting programming tasks in different languages, graphic editors, databases… We even went through Paint in all its glory and thoroughly studied Word, Excel and PowerPoint. And at 3-5 courses we programmed in the 1C: Accounting system. Here's what really comes in handy. And knowledge of creating and maintaining databases is always required. I did not regret a bit that I chose the applied specialty.

Mathematical disciplines forced me to stay up all night during the session. But they are not alone. In addition to them, there are several other nasty subjects - physics (so beloved by me at school), history, philosophy, legal disciplines. But I firmly knew that I needed to gather strength into a fist and move forward. Just be patient. But I never thought about giving up everything. I am a perfectionist in life. And if I do something, I do it well and to the end. Fortunately, it was possible to achieve good grades with knowledge and diligence, and not with parental money. No one believes, but our group has never collected packages and other monetary incentives for teachers. There just wasn't even a reason! My friends are my wealth!

During my studies, my school friend became a real support and support. I always knew that I could rely on him. In addition, I found three true friends. We still communicate, although we graduated from the university in 2008 (entered in 2003). One of them even became the godmother of my daughter. Five years of close communication were not in vain. I took something from them, taught something - that's what friends are for!

Work is not a wolf

We have a good scholarship, only a small one :), as Mikhail Evdokimov said about retirement in one of his monologues. This is where you have to work. My first place of work was the Mordovian children's camp "Energetik". And it all started with the fact that I was told that the Commonwealth of Pedagogical Detachments (CPO) is actively working at our university. Each faculty has a teaching team. We call it The Matrix. This is no coincidence. Indeed, in addition to the name of the famous film, this is a mathematical term meaning a set of numbers. SPO conducts classes with beginners, teaches child psychology, eagle songs, educational games and other interesting and useful things. Upon completion of the course, a certificate is issued that it is possible to work with children. This is an interesting, responsible and fun job! True, the payment is symbolic. For a shift (21 days) I received 3,000 rubles. But it was worth it!

Only I had to take the session ahead of schedule, which was sometimes inconvenient. Some teachers believe that if you came to study, then study, and not "dance in front of the children through the forests."

I also worked as a promoter in the evenings. In other words, they ran promotions. The pay was small in those days. For a month it was possible to earn 1500-2000 rubles. This did not interfere with studies, because for the duration of the session it was possible to refuse to work. Although meeting some teachers in supermarkets during a tasting or just a promotion, it was unpleasant to hear that “it is better to study and prepare for the Olympiads than to sell dumplings!” But to each his own.

Further plans and prospects

Moscow State University named after Ogarev is considered the most prestigious university in Mordovia, and there is always a big competition at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics. Despite the “male face” of the programmer profession, many girls study here, although rarely anyone then works in their specialty. But the most important thing that gives education at the Faculty of Mathematics is the ability to quickly understand and learn any business. Still would! After subjects such as the equations of mathematical physics, accounting or office work will seem like seeds :).

I graduated from university in 2008 and found a job a week later. And again, my native university helped. When you sign a bypass sheet, you need to fill out a questionnaire at the university employment service. They pass the data on to employers, who connect with people of interest and invite them to work. So it was with me. I was invited for an interview and then hired.

My work is very interesting! I teach rural accountants to work on a computer with 1C software. Despite the complexity, tension and travel nature, I love my job. Yes, and she brings in a good income. For a girl, earnings of 18-20 thousand per month in our city are considered more than decent. I'm currently on maternity leave, but I'll be out soon and back to work.

close people

While studying in the 4th year, I met my future husband, and already in the 5th year we got married. Two months after they met, they began to live separately from their parents - they rented an apartment. And now we live in our own new building. Thanks to the government of the republic - they support young families, give subsidies and other benefits for the purchase of housing.

We were just friends with the guys from the group. Until now, meeting, we can’t talk enough - everyone has their own life. But the time we spent together will always be remembered. This is ours, and there will be no other.

Throughout life we meet different people on the way. Someone passes by, someone plays only an episodic role, and someone remains. Only three university friends remained in my life for a long time. The rest are just acquaintances and friends, nothing more.

The main advantage of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics

As I thought, at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, I learned to master the computer perfectly. This is important when applying for any job. In general, even those who studied satisfactorily will easily master a new profession and field of activity. Because the main thing that the Faculty of Mathematics gives is the ability to understand, systematize and think logically. I have never been disappointed with my choice! It is difficult to study, this faculty is not for lazy people. But the more difficult knowledge and skills are given, the more they are valued. You can graduate from the faculty of physical education or agriculture, there will also be a higher education. But if you want to get not only a diploma, but also learn to think and have a broad outlook, then you are here.

Studying in this educational institution and at this faculty made me who I am. Here I met friends, found wise mentors, learned a lot that was useful in life. Definitely, the years of study were not in vain for me!
