Nethershards were added to the game in patch 7.0 as a reward for defending Azeroth from the demonic incursions of the Burning Legion. Shards could be used to purchase gear and transmog items. In patch 7.2, Nethershards will be relevant again. They will become the main currency on the Broken Shore, like Apexis Crystals in Tanaan Jungle or Timeless Coins on the Timeless Isle.

Why do we need Nethershards?
Nethershards can be spent in several different ways. With their help you can buy:
- Legionfall Armies cosmetic items.
- Equipment items, if you want to dress minor characters.
- Items with which you can create with some probability legendary equipment.
- Transmog weapon (for paladins and death knights).
- Additional attempts to obtain skins for artifacts.

Obtaining Nethershards
Nethershards can be obtained in several ways:

Farm Nethershards
The easiest way to get Nethershards is to complete Incursion World Quests in Azsuna, Val'shara, Highmountain, and Stormheim. elite with a reward of 150 shards.) Why do you need legendary shards?
In the later stages of the game, legendary shards are needed to create exotic items from the collection. Each time a player obtains an exotic item, it is added to their collection. Even if you sell this "original" item, you can create a copy of it at any time by spending 10 legendary shards.
The fastest way to get legendary shards in Destiny 2
If you were counting on the fact that there is some quick and universal way to “farm” shards quickly, then, alas, Destiny 2 works differently. There is no optimal way to farm legendary shards in the game, as the balance is built on a different principle.
