The Institute of Food Technologies and Design, a branch of the Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering and Economics University, trains specialists for work in the field Catering, hotel and restaurant service, light industry.
The Institute of Food Technologies and Design - a branch of the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Engineering and Economics was founded in October 2011 on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod Technological College. However, its history began back in 1939 - with the creation of the school of the FZU of the Gorky trust "Rosglavkhleba", commonly called the school of bakers. In 1958, the school was renamed SPTU No. 55, and 40 years later it was reorganized into the Nizhny Novgorod Food Industry College, and then into the Nizhny Novgorod Technological College.
For more than 70 years, the institute has trained thousands of specialists to work in the food industry.
The Institute includes:
- Faculty of Technology;
- faculty of service;
- Faculty of Technology and Design.
More than 80% of the teaching staff of the institute have degrees candidates and doctors of sciences.
The institute has an effective mechanism of social partnership. The basic enterprises of the institute are large and reputable associations and complexes in the food industry - Nizhny Novgorod Khleb (bakery plants; flour mills), the Pishchevik Association (enterprises of dairy, alcohol, alcoholic beverage, brewing and confectionery industries), Grain Union (mills and flour mills), the Guild of Bakers (private enterprises and bakery companies), the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers (cafes, restaurants, hotels in Nizhny Novgorod), the Pir company (cafes, restaurants in Nizhny Novgorod), city and regional food plants ( canteens of schools, children's factories, universities), shopping malls in Nizhny Novgorod, wholesale depots of consumer goods.
This year Height united more than 30 venues! One of the venues was the first Festival of student and youth clubs, organizations and associations of the Nizhny Novgorod region!

On September 2, a solemn line dedicated to the Day of Knowledge was held at the Institute of Food Technologies and Design! First-year students, administration, parents and guests gathered at the main site. By tradition, the student asset of IPTD opened the line. The guys lit it up by performing a flash mob with flags.
1st year students of IPTD under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Humanitarian Disciplines, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor Chastnov Kirill Sergeevich took part in one of the competitions of the national INTEGRATION system, "My legislative initiative 2019" and became laureates of the correspondence round of this competition.
On June 28-29, students and teachers of IPTD took part in scientific and practical conference"Tourist potential of Russia: the formation of new centers of attraction for tourists and prospects for development", which was held on the territory of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "RANEPA".
From June 26 to June 27, 2019, the First International Skill Competition "Master of the Silk Road" was held in Beijing. The delegation from Nizhny Novgorod was met by the organizers: Beijing Professional graduate School(Beijing Fengtai Vocational High School).
On June 18 and 19, IPTD staff and students took part in the All-Russian educational conference "Knowledge. Technologies. Trends in the development of the tourism industry in the Russian Federation" organized by ROSTURISM and RGUTIS in Nizhny Novgorod.
And again IPTD goes to the federal level of scientific communication. From June 6 to 8, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held. Head of the Department of Humanitarian Disciplines, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor Chastnov Kirill Sergeevich took an active part in it.
