Story

The institute included departments: physical and technical; socio-literary with sections of socio-political, Chuvash language and literature, Russian language and literature; agronomic; chemical and biological; preschool; political and educational; labor; as well as preparatory courses and the Chuvash Pedagogical Workers' Faculty.

Since 1993, Professor D. D. Ivlev, the founder of the scientific school of mechanics in Chuvashia, worked here.

Infrastructure

The buildings and facilities of the university are located in two administrative districts of Cheboksary - Leninsky and Moskovsky, and in the Cheboksary region of Chuvashia.
Three educational buildings, two dormitories and an educational and amenity complex (canteen) are located in the quarter bounded by Karl Marx, Kooperativnaya, Presidential Boulevard and Republic Square.
Two more educational buildings, a swimming pool (a sports and recreation complex), a stadium and an agrobiological station are located in the quarter bounded by Pirogov, Academician A.N. Krylov, Zelenaya and Raduzhnaya streets, and have one address - st. Pirogova, 25 .

Main academic building architectural monument (regional), () - a brick, four-story, W-shaped building in plan - the most important component of the Republic Square ensemble. Built according to the project of architect A. M. Krylov, an example of Stalinist architecture. My choice fell on one of the 2 leading universities in the city of Cheboksary at the Chuvash State Pedagogical University. AND I. Yakovlev. So the school program in mathematics and computer science was easily given to me, I chose the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, specializing in Mathematics and Informatics. Chuvash State Pedagogical University. I. Ya. Yakovleva is a leading university in the Volga region, graduating teachers of various specializations - from primary school teachers to teachers of history, correctional pedagogy and the Chuvash language.

Chuvash State Pedagogical University. I. Ya. Yakovleva was created in 1930 on the basis of the Simbirsk Practical Institute and the Eastern Pedagogical Institute Kazan.

In 2010, the university became a laureate All-Russian competition"100 best organizations of Russia in the field of science and education".

To date, the university includes 10 faculties:
