When spring break comes. To be or not to be: Is it worth it to study with a child on vacation. How vacation dates are determined

Holidays - best time for schoolchildren. Students look forward to each of the rest periods with great impatience. AND spring break 2017-2018 is perhaps the most long-awaited of them: the third quarter, the longest and most difficult, ends in spring, spring is the proximity of the end of the school year, the onset of heat and the construction of plans for the summer. When does spring break start in 2018? Let's understand a little more.

Every year, the Ministry of Education brings to the attention of the municipal departments of education, and through them to individual educational institutions, the timetable school holidays. The schedule is compiled taking into account the hours allotted for study and rest.

However, there are no plans for the 2017-2018 academic year yet: the agency is preparing such documents several months before the start of the new academic year. Accordingly, the vacation schedule has not yet been approved. But knowing when the spring break began in 2017, you can calculate the vacation dates yourself.

Approximate days of the spring break of the 2017-2018 academic year - March 26 - April 1.

That is, the students will leave for a long rest on Saturday, March 24 (or on Sunday, March 25, with a six-day school week). You will have to return to school on Monday, April 2. Thus, the duration of the vacation will be 9 (or 8) days.

It is worth remembering that the dates are approximate so far, the Ministry of Education may slightly shift the indicated dates. In addition, the right to final approval of vacation time does not belong to the ministry or even to the municipal department of education, but directly to the educational institution. That is, only the principal of the school can announce the day the holidays begin.

School holidays are a time of long-awaited rest for any student. Both first-graders and future graduates count the days before the start of the holidays literally from the first days of the school year. After all, the holidays of 2017-2018 are not just days free from study, but also time filled with games, communication with peers, and family vacation trips.

The exact dates of the holidays are also important for parents, because many of them try to keep their child busy at this time, send them on an interesting trip or take a vacation at work.

New Year is the most favorite holiday for most adults and children. That is why the long weekend that accompanies it can safely be called the most long-awaited. As a rule, rest at the turn of the year is more than two weeks. But the timing of the winter holidays of the 2018-2019 academic year may differ from the usual.

In addition to traditional quarters, schools can now study according to other systems - modules, trimesters, and even bimestres. The difference is that the holidays at each such school begin at different time and also last differently. And each approach has its supporters.

When do winter holidays start and end 2018-2019

The New Year and Christmas holidays are already very close and at the moment people are already doing New Year's Eve and shopping. Everyone is wondering how many residents this year Russian Federation will rest during the celebrations and how many days school holidays will last for students.

If we talk about children's holidays that come at schools, then this year we can say that Russian schoolchildren are quite lucky. Children will be able to fully relax for almost two weeks. On December 25, school holidays begin, which will last until January 9, that is, you will only need to go to school on January 10, 2019.

But, the Ministry of Education takes into account the fact that some schools may not follow the recommendations of the Ministry, but implement their own holidays. For example, some schools that study in terms of trimesters rather than quarters, like most in the Russian Federation, can use parent meetings and meetings of the teaching staff independently decide when the winter vacation.

As a rule, in such schools, winter holidays for children begin a little later than in all others. For example, this year the rest for children in these schools starts only on December 30 and will last until January 8. That is, on January 9, schoolchildren will have to go to school. But there is also a benefit in studying at such a school, children will have an additional opportunity to relax during the week in February.

Parents note that it was this year that the initiative of the government, which recommended organizing new year holidays a warm welcome in many families is also due to the fact that parents will be able to spend more time with their children and go somewhere with them during the Christmas holidays.

The distribution of study time into trimesters is a relatively new approach for Russian schools to planning the learning process for schoolchildren. Its main principle is that equal periods of study during the year alternate with weekly rest. According to psychologists and teachers, this approach allows schoolchildren to avoid overwork due to the even distribution of the load, which is especially important in elementary school.

Division of the academic year

In the traditional educational system the year is divided into 4 quarters, each of which lasts approximately 2-2.5 months and ends with holidays. The exception is the New Year holidays, for which schoolchildren get a rather long rest period, as well as summer holidays lasting 3 months.

Under the trimester system, the academic year is evenly divided into 6 academic periods and the same number of holidays. The duration of each trimester is usually 5-6 weeks, and the rest time after them is 1 week.

Thus, the learning process by semesters is cyclical. An exception is the New Year's holiday, the duration of which is the same as in schools with more familiar quarterly education. At the same time, the rest of schoolchildren in the summer remains unchanged.

The Ministry of Education annually makes adjustments to the educational process 6 months before the start of the school year. In 2018-2019 academic year the training schedule for the trimester system will look like this:

  • 1st: September 1 (3) - October 7;
  • 2nd: October 15 - November 18;
  • 3rd: November 26 - December 29.
  • 4th: January 9 - February 17;
  • 5th: February 25 - April 7;
  • 6th: April 15 - May 31.

Trimester holidays 2018-2019

Despite the absence of exact vacation dates in 2018-2019, with a trimester education system, it is already possible to roughly calculate when schoolchildren will start rest in each semester, guided by the experience of past years and taking into account the days of public holidays that are marked non-working in the calendar.

So, let's look at how school holidays will be distributed in 2018-2019 by trimesters:

  • In the first autumn holidays will last from 8 to 14 October.
  • In the second vacation is scheduled from 19 to 25 November.
  • In the third, students are waiting for the “long weekend”, which will begin on December 30, 2018 and end on January 9, 2019.
  • In the fourth vacation will begin on February 18 and end on the 24th.
  • In the fifth, vacation time is indicated in the period from April 8 to April 14.
  • In the sixth, students receive the longest and longest-awaited summer vacation from June 1 to August 31.

This distribution of vacations for schools with a trimester form of education in 2018-2019 will help schoolchildren and their parents plan personal events in advance, especially when long-distance travels or other significant events are coming. But it should be borne in mind that the given dates are indicative, since the school management has the right to adjust the vacation time by 1-2 weeks.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education, each school institution independently chooses both the system of education (quarterly or trimester) and the dates of vacation time.

At the same time, there are mandatory requirements to be followed on this issue:

  1. Holidays should start on the first day of the week - Monday.
  2. The start date cannot be moved more than 2 weeks.
  3. The total number of rest days for schoolchildren should not be less than 30 (excluding summer holidays).

Thus, the school management independently determines the days of the beginning and end of the rest periods of their students, without deviating from general provisions Ministry of Education.

Possible timing deviations

Schoolchildren from different cities of Russia have vacations that do not always coincide in terms of dates and duration. Regional departments of education have the right to adjust the terms educational process and recreation in subordinate schools, which may be due to various reasons:

  1. Deterioration of weather conditions (hard frosts, floods, etc.).
  2. Insufficient air temperature directly in the classrooms. According to the norms of the Ministry of Education, it is forbidden to conduct classes in classes where the temperature is below 18 ° C.
  3. Epidemics of influenza and other diseases in which the threshold exceeds the allowable threshold of morbidity (more than 30% of the total number of students), which requires closure educational institution for quarantine.

Note: During frosts below 25 ° C, classes for elementary school students are stopped, after -28 ° C - for high school, and at -30°C - for high school students. Additionally, wind speed is also taken into account, which enhances the effect of frosty air, which provokes severe frostbite.

If such extreme breaks last only a few days, they usually do not affect the pace of learning in the school curriculum. But if force majeure conditions drag on for a week or more, school authorities will be forced to reduce the duration or shift the dates of school holidays.

The authorities of Ecuador have deprived Julian Assange of asylum in the London embassy. The founder of WikiLeaks is detained by the British police, and this has already been called the biggest betrayal in the history of Ecuador. Why is Assange being avenged and what awaits him?

Julian Assange, a programmer and journalist from Australia, became widely known after the website WikiLeaks, founded by him, published secret documents of the US State Department, as well as materials related to military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2010.

But it was quite difficult to find out who the policemen, supporting by the arms, were taking out of the building. Assange grew a beard and did not look at all like the energetic man that he had so far presented in photographs.

According to Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno, Assange's asylum was denied because of his repeated violations of international conventions.

He is expected to remain at a police station in central London until he appears before Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Why the President of Ecuador is accused of betrayal

Former President of Ecuador Rafael Correa called the decision of the current government the biggest betrayal in the history of the country. "What he (Moreno. - Approx. ed.) did is a crime that humanity will never forget," Correa said.

London, on the contrary, thanked Moreno. The British Foreign Office believes that justice has prevailed. The representative of the Russian diplomatic department, Maria Zakharova, has a different opinion. "The hand of 'democracy' is squeezing the throat of freedom," she said. The Kremlin expressed the hope that the rights of the arrested person would be respected.

Ecuador harbored Assange because the former president was center-left, critical of US policy, and welcomed WikiLeaks' release of classified documents on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even before the Internet activist needed asylum, he managed to get to know Correa personally: he interviewed him for the Russia Today channel.

However, in 2017, the government in Ecuador changed, the country headed for rapprochement with the United States. The new president called Assange "a stone in the shoe" and immediately made it clear that his stay on the territory of the embassy would not be delayed.

According to Correa, the moment of truth came at the end of June last year, when US Vice President Michael Pence arrived in Ecuador on a visit. Then everything was decided. "You can be sure: Lenin is just a hypocrite. He has already agreed with the Americans about the fate of Assange. And now he is trying to make us swallow the pill, saying that Ecuador allegedly continues the dialogue," Correa said in an interview with Russia Today.

How Assange made new enemies

The day before the arrest Chief Editor WikiLeaks Kristin Hrafnsson said that Assange was under total surveillance. "WikiLeaks uncovered a massive spy operation against Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy," he said. According to him, cameras and voice recorders were placed around Assange, and the information received was transmitted to the administration of Donald Trump.

Hrafnsson specified that Assange was going to be expelled from the embassy a week earlier. This did not happen only because WikiLeaks made public this information. The plans of the authorities of Ecuador were reported to the portal by high-ranking source However, the head of the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry, Jose Valencia, denied the rumors.

The expulsion of Assange was preceded by a corruption scandal involving Moreno. In February, WikiLeaks published the INA Papers package, which traced the operations of the offshore company INA Investment, founded by the brother of the Ecuadorian leader. In Quito, they said that this was a plot by Assange with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and former head of Ecuador Rafael Correa to overthrow Moreno.

In early April, Moreno complained about Assange's behavior in Ecuador's London mission. “We have to protect the life of Mr. Assange, but he has already crossed all the lines in terms of violating the agreement that we reached with him,” the president said. “This does not mean that he cannot speak freely, but he cannot lie and hack ". At the same time, back in February last year, it became known that Assange at the embassy was deprived of the opportunity to interact with outside world, in particular, he was turned off access to the Internet.

Why Sweden stopped persecuting Assange

At the end of last year, Western media, citing sources, reported that Assange would be charged in the United States. This was never officially confirmed, but it was precisely because of Washington's position that Assange had to take refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy six years ago.

Sweden, in May 2017, stopped investigating two cases of rape in which the founder of the portal was accused. Assange demanded compensation from the country's government for legal costs in the amount of 900,000 euros.

Earlier, in 2015, Swedish prosecutors also dropped three charges against him due to the statute of limitations.

Where did the rape investigation lead?

Assange arrived in Sweden in the summer of 2010, hoping to get protection from US authorities. But he was under investigation for rape. In November 2010, a warrant for his arrest was issued in Stockholm, and Assange was put on the international wanted list. He was detained in London, but was soon released on bail of 240 thousand pounds.

In February 2011, a British court ruled to extradite Assange to Sweden, followed by a series of successful appeals for the founder of WikiLeaks.

The British authorities placed him under house arrest before deciding to extradite him to Sweden. Breaking his promise to the authorities, Assange asked for asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy, which was granted to him. Since then, the UK has had its own grievances against the founder of WikiLeaks.

What's next for Assange?

The man was re-arrested following a U.S. extradition request for publishing classified documents, police said. At the same time, Deputy Foreign Minister Alan Duncan said that Assange would not be sent to the United States if he faced the death penalty there.

In the UK, Assange is likely to appear in court on the afternoon of 11 April. This is stated on the WikiLeaks Twitter page. It is likely that the British authorities will seek a maximum sentence of 12 months, the man's mother said, citing his lawyer.

At the same time, the Swedish prosecutor's office is considering reopening the investigation into the rape allegation. Lawyer Elizabeth Massey Fritz, who represented the interests of the victim, will seek this.

Autumn holidays at school in 2018 are approved for the following dates:

Most of them study according to the quarter system, so their holidays will begin at the end of October, and they will have to go to school on the 8th on Monday.

In the Soviet period, school holidays were strictly confined to certain days. Now they can change, and in each school these terms can be set on their own. Especially if it is, say, a private school. However, there is an order of the education committee, which stipulates vacation periods.

Based on this order, each school sets the period for the beginning and end of vacations. Many have probably come across the fact that in one school the holidays begin at one time, and in the next one at a completely different time.

A natural question arises, what is the reason for this?

There are two, let's say, ways of learning: by quarters, the most common and by trimesters. If the school works in quarters, then the vacation schedule is set to a standard one, namely, 9 autumn days, New Year holidays last 10 days and spring holidays - 7 days. In addition, for the first classes, additional winter holidays are set for a duration of 7 days. But how do children relax in schools with trimester education? Here they study for 5 weeks, and then rest for 1 week. Winter holidays are the same for all schools.

Calendar for autumn holidays 2018

So the very first holidays are coming, which will begin in the new 2018 academic year. Schoolchildren, especially middle-level students (grades 5-8), begin to wait for them almost a week after the start of their studies. And if there is a golden autumn in the yard, then the children even do not want to sit at their desks in good sunny weather.
