What we should learn social science 5. Introduction. Let's start studying social science. Types of learning activities

What is social science?

Dear friends! You start studying social science - a school course that will introduce you to various problems modern society: political, economic, moral, legal. Social studies will accompany you until graduation. "Why do we need such a course?" - you ask, and we, the authors of this textbook, will answer: in order to learn how to live in society, know the laws of its development, find your place in it, be successful and happy.

No science can give a holistic, complete knowledge of man and society. Only the complex of sciences can do this. The sciences that deal with the study of man and society are called public.

Social science knowledge is very important for every person. This year we invite you to familiarize yourself with the questions that are closest to the fifth grader. Health, work, leisure, relationships with people, culture, sports, fashion - this is not a complete list of topics covered in the 5th grade social science textbook.

The textbook is based on the example of one day in your life - the life of a fifth grader. During the day, one way or another, you have to deal with the questions that social sciences study: how to temper your will and become physically strong? How to learn to communicate with different people and keep a good mood? Why is it important to do your homework? How to shop the right way and not waste money? What role do I play in my family, class, circle of friends, sports team? How important is my participation in fate hometown, regions, countries? You will find answers to these and other questions on the pages of your first social studies textbook.

In subsequent years, you will have to become more familiar with individual topics of social science:
Grade 6: "Social science. The world of man";
Grade 7: "Social science. Man in society";
Grade 8: "Social science. Law in the life of a person, society and the state";
Grade 9: "Social science. The economy around us."

As you can see, in each of these topics we are talking about a person. It is the person, and therefore you, that studies social science. In this new school course any information about you will be important.

You should constantly relate your life to what is being studied in the lesson, share your observations with classmates and the teacher. You must be prepared for the fact that you will have to conduct conversations, participate in disputes, conduct surveys, write essays.

The social sciences study the relationships of people in society. In the lessons of social studies, you will share your experience of communicating with different people. In the process of studying social studies, you will need to seek help from older family members - their life experience, opinion and advice will help you cope with many tasks.

Social studies lessons are a process of accumulating knowledge about society. Therefore, you should gradually begin to be interested in what is happening in your area, city, country, world. To do this, you need to read, watch or listen to the news, do small messages. By showing interest in what is happening in society and the state, a person brings up a patriot and citizen in himself.

Thematic planning in social studies grade 5. 35 hours per academic year.

The school curriculum includes the study of many subjects. They were all chosen for a purpose. After all, not only those subjects that are responsible for the exact sciences are important. No one doubts such a subject as the Russian language or mathematics. Here it is so clear that the items presented will be useful in the later life of each person. But there are "controversial" subjects, when even adults cannot understand why he is in the school curriculum. One of these subjects is social studies. Many people ask the question, what is this lesson in general and what is it for? However, since it is approved as a school subject in Russia, then, for some reason, this is the place to be.

Social studies is a school subject taught in secondary schools. Russian Federation, which studies a variety of social phenomena and aspects, namely:

  • prepares the child for social life;
  • explains by what laws the society develops;
  • explains the role of man in society;
  • interaction of people with each other;
  • teaches how to communicate with other people;
  • socializes.

Social science as a subject combines the knowledge of other sciences, such as psychology, philosophy, ethics and others. Thus, by studying social science, you cover the basics of several sciences at once and at the same time spend much less time studying each one separately.

Some people think that such a subject has no place in the school curriculum, because there is absolutely no sense in it. In fact, this is far from the truth. According to Daria Rudnik, head of the site http://distance-teacher.ru/obschestvoznanie - a portal for finding tutors via Skype: "the presented subject helps to socialize children, preparing them for adulthood."

Social studies as a subject of the school curriculum has the following functions:

  1. Educational. Allows you to form superficial knowledge about a person and his interaction with other people (society).
  2. Practical. Allows you to learn the rules of life, and how to fit into society. Includes practical examples from life.
  3. Cognitive. Allows you to explore all the concepts related to human relationships and interactions.
  4. Methodological. It teaches to understand the methods and phenomena that occur in society.

From this we can conclude that the presented school subject does not teach any professions. Unless a social studies teacher. But even in spite of this fact, this subject is very important, as it teaches children to form as social personality. Human factor plays important role in other fields of activity and other professions. In addition, no matter what job the student will then go to, in any case, he will be in contact with people. But how to contact them correctly, how to resolve conflicts and other equally important issues are studied in social studies classes. In order for a person to achieve anything in his life, he needs to know himself first of all. This can also be learned in this lesson.

Many wrongfully accuse the school and the entire education system of not teaching life there. On the contrary, they teach. And a clear example is just the lesson of social science. And no matter how it seems at first glance, this subject is quite complicated. To understand it correctly, you need to study constantly. This is what all students should understand. After all, this is one of the few subjects, the knowledge of which will certainly come in handy in later adult life.

During the classes
1. Motivation for learning activities.

Teacher reads an excerpt from a poem by R. Kipling:
-I have six servants
Agile, remote,
And all that I see around -
I know everything from them.

They are at my behest
Are in need.
They are called: How and Why,
Who, What, When and Where.
Hello guys. Let's start our lesson. Today, in a social studies lesson, we will open the veil of secrets together and find answers to the questions "How and Why, Who, What, When and Where." I wish you good mood and excellent grades.
Teacher:
Guys, what is the difference between humans and animals?
-Are all people similar to each other on Earth? How do you think they differ? Does nature give something to a person from birth or is he born as a “blank slate”?
Students answer the teacher's questions, and come to the conclusion that children are all different - they all look like their parents - dad and mom.

2. Formulation of the topic and setting the learning goal.
Teacher:
-Guys, what do you think, what will we talk about today at the lesson?
Students provide answers. The teacher names the topic of the lesson, the students write it in a notebook.
Teacher:
-Guys, what do you still not know on this topic, but would like to learn at the lesson today?
Students answer, put learning goal. The teacher writes questions on the board that students want to know:
* what is heredity;
* how it manifests itself;
* Is it possible to influence heredity;
* Man is not only a biological being, but a social (social) one.

3. Discovery of new knowledge.
Teacher:
-Every person from birth is like his father and mother, grandfather and grandmother. And heredity is to blame for this. What is heredity? I invite you to work in groups and independently define the word "heredity".
Students complete the task and give and write a definition in a notebook.
Heredity is a set of natural properties of an organism received from parents.
Teacher:
-Well done! Here you have found the answer to the first question. And to find out how heredity manifests itself, I suggest that you complete task 1 in the instruction card.
Groups perform tasks and, alternately answering the questions of task 1, come to the conclusion that a person is a biological being.

instruction card. Group #1
Exercise 1
Read paragraph §1 “The heredity of the animal is manifested ...” (up to the words “It is well known in science ...”).
Question: what is instinct? In which instincts is the heredity of animals manifested?
Task 2
Remember the famous cartoon by E. Uspensky "Three from Prostokvashino". Uncle Fyodor's parents received a letter from their son:
-My dad and mom! I'm alive well... just wonderful ... I have everything, I have my own house - it is warm. It has one room and a kitchen. I miss you very much, especially in the evenings.
And my health is not very good... sometimes it hurts my paws, sometimes my tail falls off. And the other day, I started shedding. Old wool is shedding off me, even if you don’t go into the house ... But the new one grows - clean - silky. So my frivolity increased.
Discuss the text of Uncle Fyodor's letter and express your opinion about what in this letter can be considered true, and what is fiction?

instruction card. Group #2
Exercise 1
Read paragraph §1 “The biological essence of a person is also reflected ......” (up to the words “There is such an opinion ...”).
Question: What facts indicate that man is a biological being?
Task 2
Read an excerpt from R. Kipling's book "Mowgli": "The bushes in the thicket rustled slightly, and Father Wolf sat down on his hind legs, preparing to jump ...
-Human! Father Wolf snarled. “Man-cub!” Look!
– What a small! Quite naked, but what a bold! said Mother Wolf kindly. - Oh! He sucks along with others!”
Discuss the text and answer the question: what does a child need in life for him to grow up as a HUMAN?

Teacher:
Is it possible to influence heredity? Let's go back to the tutorial. I suggest that everyone read the text of §1 “Is it possible to influence heredity” (p. 13) on their own and find the answer to this question.
Students read the text and answer the teacher's question.
Teacher:
-Well done! Now we know that man is a biological being. But in the last lesson you said that a person must be brought up in society, communicate with adults and peers in order to become a Real Person. I suggest you read and complete task 2.
The groups discuss the task and come to the conclusion that a person cannot acquire hereditary traits (for example, “shaggyness has increased”), that a child, having been born among people, must learn a lot, and he can do this only through communication, play, study and work, that man is not only a biological being, but also a social (social) one.
4. Primary check of understanding of educational material.
Students complete the tasks orally:
1) Certain actions of the body already present at birth are:
a) instincts b) activity c) intelligence d) heredity
2) A person is distinguished from an animal by:
a) instincts b) molting c) intelligence d) habits
3) The form of communication between people through language is:
a) speech b) gestures c) mind d) instinct

5. Generalization and systematization of knowledge.
A) Reading and discussion of the text of the textbook under the heading “A man lived in the world” (p. 13). Students express their assumptions about the meaning of human life, values in human life (in the answers, you can use the proverbs of the Russian people Vladimir Ivanovich Dahl, written on the board).
Teacher:
- Guys, now try to determine the goal own life.
The students answer the teacher's question.
B) Exercise "2 words".
Two students go to the blackboard, stand so as not to see each other, and at the signal of the teacher, they simultaneously write down on the blackboard each their own word on the topic of the lesson, which sounded at any of its stages. Then the teacher asks to combine the meaning of these words with each other so that a sentence is obtained. Students in the field come up with their own sentences with the same words and read them out.
Teacher:
- Well done boys! Completed all tasks. Our lesson ends.
6. Reflection.
Technique "Unfinished sentence".
Students are given cards with unfinished text, they are invited to complete the sentences orally:
* for me, the material studied in the lesson (interesting, boring, informative, difficult), because ____________________________
* I worked (a) in the lesson (effectively, passively), because _____________
* in the lesson I would like to (a) change (add) the following _____________________
Summarizing.
7. D / s.§1, pp.11-15, make a crossword puzzle on §1 or draw a picture on the topic of the lesson.
