The branch of Tyumen State University in Surgut has been operating since 1997. The university is a state educational institution that implements programs of higher professional training at the secondary level.

Scientific - research in the branch is carried out in priority scientific areas: life sciences; security and counteraction to terrorism, crimes and other offenses; management, accounting, finance and credit in social and economic systems. The branch of Tyumen State University in Surgut began its history on July 30, 1996 with the opening of an educational and consulting center, which was transformed on January 8, 1997 by order of the Minister of General and Vocational Education into a branch.
Initially, the branch occupied part of the building on the street. Decembrists, then moved to the building of the former kindergarten on st. Working 43/1, which was completely reconstructed.
